Arlington-Setagaya Youth Exchange

世田谷区とのユース交流

Are you interested in Japan? Do you study Japanese or want to communicate with Japanese students in Tokyo? SJA is hosting a youth language and culture exchange program with Setagaya, Tokyo by Zoom! You can practice Japanese and help Japanese students practice English. It’s a monthly event, so you can choose which dates to register for—come once or come every time! It’s really flexible and each session is independently conclusive, so you don’t have to worry about missing a session. And it’s free!

This academic year's schedule will be the following Saturdays (US Eastern):

Time: 6:00-6:45 p.m. EST

Come join us at SJA Origami Table at the George Washington University J.LIVE Talk 2024!

SJA's origami team will organize a booth at the J.LIVE Talk 2024, a national Japanese language presentation contest for high school and college students, organized by the George Washington University Japanese Language Program. 

Date: Sunday, November 3, 2024

Time: 9am-3:30pm  (doors open at 8:45 a.m)

Are you interested in Japan? Do you study Japanese or want to communicate with Japanese students in Tokyo? SJA is hosting a youth language and culture exchange program with Setagaya, Tokyo by Zoom! You can practice Japanese and help Japanese students practice English. It’s a monthly event, so you can choose which dates to register for—come once or come every time! It’s really flexible and each session is independently conclusive, so you don’t have to worry about missing a session. And it’s free!

Do you want to practice your Japanese conversation abilities and learn new vocab and grammar, guided by native speakers? Please join our all-levels, in-person Japanese conversation class, held weekly at Arlington Central Library! Classes are free, no registration required.

Time: 12-1 p.m.

Location: Arlington Central Library (usually in the Quincy Room)

Level: All! Beginners welcome!!

Interested in Japan?  Want to study abroad?  Then, this event is for you!

Study Japanese in Arlington (SJA) is hosting a Japanese Universities Information Session on Monday, September 9, 5:30-7:00 pm.

Representatives from Japan's top universities will present their undergraduate programs where you can study in English and earn a bachelor's degree.  There will be chances to talk directly and ask questions to the representatives. 

The Information Session will be held in person at the Auditorium of Arlington Central Library (1015 N Quincy St, Arlington, VA 22201).

This is not geared only to students who are studying Japanese, but also to any students who are interested in Japan and in studying abroad.

SJA(Study Japanese in Arlington)は9月9日(月)、日本の大学の説明会を対面で開催いたします。

筑波大学・ICU(国際基督教大学)・立命館大学より、日本語が母国語でない高校生向けの、英語で取れる学士プログラムをご紹介していただきます。

説明会は英語で行われます。参加は無料ですが、事前登録が必要です。
